Code of conduct
This is the coaching framework that protects the client and the coach, as well as anyone else involved in the coaching process. These ethical principles are proposed by the ICF (International Coach Federation)
ETHICS AND RULES OF COACHING
I - PROFESSIONAL ETHICS AND DEONTOLOGY
Art. 1: Exercise one's activity with respect for people and the principles of neutrality, honesty and non-discrimination.
Art. 2 : Respect professional confidentiality.
Art. 3 : Communicate this code of ethics to anyone who requests it.
II - CUSTOMER RELATIONS
Art. 4 : Analyze clients' needs prior to the service in order to propose a program that meets their expectations and enables them to achieve their professional goals.
Art. 5 : Draw up a contract or agreement prior to any training or coaching activity. These documents must provide a clear framework for the action (objective, price, support methods).
Art. 6 : Respect contractual conditions.
Art. 7 : Provide accurate information on the trainer's training and professional skills.
Art. 8 : Use all his/her skills to achieve the training or coaching objectives.
Art. 9 : Inform the client or the client's sponsor as quickly as possible of any factor that could jeopardize the achievement of the coaching or training objectives.
Art. 10 : Remain neutral and express no judgement about the customer.
Art. 11 : Respect the confidentiality of information and exchanges with the customer.
Art. 12 : Respect the culture of the client organization.
III - RELATIONS WITH THE BENEFICIARIES OF TRAINING AND/OR CONSULTING INITIATIVES (IN FRENCH)
Art. 13: Integrate actions into a personal development approach.
Art. 14: Respect each individual's personality and refrain from any form of discrimination.
Art. 15 : Guarantee confidentiality of all comments made during training sessions.
Art. 16 : Maintain a relationship based on empathy, listening and benevolence.
Art. 17 : Subordinate your interests to those of your coachees and trainees, and avoid and declare any real or potential conflict of interest.
Art. 18 : Only ask trainees and coachees for information that is necessary and directly related to the training or coaching process.
IV - RELATIONS WITH THE PROFESSION
Art. 19 : Contribute to reinforcing the image of the profession through their behavior and the quality of their actions.
Art. 20: Know and apply the rules in force in the profession.
Art. 21: Refrain from making derogatory remarks about colleagues to customers.
V - RESPECT FOR LEGAL AND REGULATORY FRAMEWORKS
Art. 22 : Know and apply the laws and regulations governing continuing professional training, and keep abreast of any changes.
